Cathedral Grammar
Cathedral Grammar Junior School was previously accommodated in a building that was destroyed in the Christchurch earthquake. The new building has a classroom block with a roof deck that has stairs and a slide from the rooftop to a courtyard below.
There are 7 classrooms, a common room and ancillary spaces. The Building was considered one fire cell with the rooftop deck considered an intermediate floor for the report which ensured the building complied for means of escape and spread of fire.
It was important to design fire solutions that hid the mechanics within the building in order to show off its award-winning architecture.
